I Know An Old
Lady Who Swallowed A Pie
Make this fun PROP to use when reading
this fun Thanksgiving spin off of the classic I Know an Old Lady Who
Swallowed a Fly. As you tell the story you can place the
different foods in her mouth and they drop down into her stomach.
The kids love it and it really captures their attention.

-
I freehand drew the old lady on tag
board and colored her with markers.
-
I Cut the a circle out of the center
for her stomach and then covered it with a 12x12 piece of clear
scrapbook cover (I cut a page cover apart so it was only one side of
it rather then double and taped it to the back of the tag board.)
-
Cut an opening for the mouth.
-
Next I covered that with a smaller
piece of tag board that I colored pink for the inside of her mouth
and stomach. It must be big enough to cover the mouth opening and
the stomach opening. *I attached it to the back of the large piece
of tag board with those square foam adhesive blocks. Like
"Sticky Dots". ***Leave an opening on one side so that you
can reach in and remove the food pieces from her stomach.
-
Then finally I made all the pieces
from the story that she eats and laminated them. Be sure that
you don't make them to big to fit in her mouth.
-
* I have not laminated the whole lady
as I wasn't sure if it would work with the clear scrapbook cover in
there, but I may ask at the print place if they think that it would
hurt it... I will let you know what I find out! Also I will
try to make patterns that you can print off of all the food pieces I
made.
