Music & Movement Center

Music & Movement plays an important part of every early childhood environment.
Some programs choose to have an interest area or center dedicated to music and movement others make it a part of their daily routine. However you use music and movement activities in your program the are a wealth of resources out there to enhance children's learning and development.

Area:
  • plenty of room for more then one child to work at a time

  • CD player, iPod, or SmartBoard- a music playing device
  • Music Resources- CD's or download form internet

  • Egg Shakers

Tips:
Musical Instruments are easy to make... You don't have to spend a lot of money on music resources. Fill plastic Easter eggs with beans for shakers, cut pieces of PVC pipes for rhythm sticks, string jingle bells onto chenille sticks for jingle shakers.
Also- grab a couple of rolls of crepe paper at the your local dollar store to use for ribbon dancing.
